Salmon oil is a supplement that has wide ranging benefits for dogs of all breeds, ages and activity levels. It is a source Omega 3, Omega 6, Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA). EPA and DHA are two types of omega-3 fatty acids found in high concentrations in fish oil, including salmon oil. These omega-3s are considered essential fatty acids because dogs cannot produce them on their own and need to obtain them from their diet.
